What's included

Start with the foundation. Keep going with a new project every month.

First, build your sewing foundation.

Ground Zero helps you stop guessing your way through sewing.

  • Understand what sewing actually is, the foundation that everything else builds on
  • Understand when hand sewing makes sense and when a machine is the right call
  • See the full picture of how any sewing project comes together, start to finish
After this module

You go from having no idea where sewing even starts to understanding the full landscape, so nothing in the rest of the course catches you off guard.

  • Build a space that makes you want to sit down and sew
  • Learn every part of your sewing machine and exactly what each one does
  • Walk away knowing exactly what's in your toolkit and why it's there
After this module

You go from staring at your machine like it's judging you to knowing every part by name and what it's for.

  • Understand seams the way nobody ever bothered to explain them before
  • Learn the main fabric types and what every sewing tutorial assumes you know
  • Know what fabric properties mean so materials stop feeling like a guessing game
After this module

You go from not knowing what a seam allowance even is to understanding exactly why it exists and how it affects every project going forward.

  • Thread a needle or set up your machine and know exactly what you're doing
  • Learn the stitches that hold everything together and when to use each one
  • Sew your first real seam with confidence, not guesswork
After this module

You go from never having made a single stitch to completing your first real seam, intentionally, with actual technique behind it.

  • Draft a pattern, cut your fabric, and construct your first seam in the right order
  • Finish every project cleanly so you're proud to show it off
  • Walk away with fabric coasters, a hand warmer, and a heating pad you made yourself
After this module

You go from watching other people make things to holding something you actually built. And your pattern library is waiting.

Worksheets included in both imperial and metric, sized for US Letter and A4.

Yes. Every pattern is designed for someone coming out of Ground Zero. If a tutorial introduces a technique that wasn't covered in the course, it gets fully explained. You are never expected to already know something you haven't been taught.
No. Modules 4 and 5 both have a hand sewing track and a machine sewing track, so you can complete the full course either way. That said, most of the pattern library projects will use a machine, so if you're planning to work through the patterns, it's worth having one eventually.

Any machine works. The course demonstrations use a top-loading machine. You can find it here if you want the exact one.
You can start the course with just a hand sewing needle and thread. More than half of it covers concepts, setup, and foundations before you sew a single stitch, so there's no pressure to stock up before you begin. The course walks you through what each project needs as you go, and each pattern in the library includes its own supply list.
Yes, select patterns may be available to purchase individually after their subscriber release window. The membership gives you access to Ground Zero, monthly pattern drops, full tutorials, and the growing pattern library while you're subscribed.
